Time To Take A Trip

I looked at the calendar this morning and realized that it was June. Wow, where has the time gone? I'm going to have a very hectic few weeks as I'm in preparation for two big trips. Tomorrow morning I will fly to Orlando, Florida to attend the New Official Workers Forum (NOWF) for the Christian and Missionary Alliance, then the following week (June 9), the Northeastern District Prayer Conference starts in Glenn Falls, New York. I grew up as a kid traveling with my parents everywhere and I still love to travel. But traveling hasn't been as enjoyable when I have to leave Melinda and Elianah for long stretches of time. I'm definitely going to miss both of them a great deal. At least for the District Prayer Conference, I'll be able to see them for spurts as I'll drive back one night and they'll stay with me for another night. I could have made my life a little easier, as I had a choice for another NOWF, but that was in August in Indiana. Orlando in June or Indiana in August? Not a tough decision.

Things at church are going well. We just finished our "Dessert at the Kongs" events, which were held on Fridays in May. On three Friday nights last month, we invited people from church over to our apartment for a time of fellowship and for the dessert. I have to say that each night went amazingly well. We enjoyed great food and great conversation. It was great for us to get to know each other better through sharing our faith journey. Though it has been hard to be booked on multiple Fridays in a row, it was definitely worth it. There are still people in the church who didn't have a chance to sign-up, so Melinda and I are going to do a few Sunday nights in June - be on the lookout!

It'll be interesting to see what our church dynamic is in the summertime. Are people going to be around? Are people going to be in town now? Are we going to see more visitors? Are we going to have new people move into our community? All very interesting questions. Please continue to join with me in prayer for Carman Road Alliance Church and how God will use us to reach people. Though the mountain seems long, hard, and unattainable, I complete confidence that God will bring us to the top of the mountain and He will see His will be done. I continue to pray for those who desperately need something real in their lives - a relationship with Jesus Christ.
