In the Christian church, do we do a good job of being open to new ideas? Are we positioning ourselves to reach people for years to come? It's very interesting to hear how Mark Zuckerburg is trying to expand the cultural mindset when it comes to connecting with people on the web. How can we be better at being relational with others?
Mark Zuckerburg, the founder of Facebook, shares some of his vision moving forward in the first 5 minutes of this video
He talks about streams and interoperability between sites to allow people to share more information across the web. Whether that's on Facebook.com or on another site through Facebook Connect.
Many believe Facebook is still the most important company in determining the future of social software. Not Google, not Microsoft, not even Twitter. Here are some paraphrased quotes that give some insight into where Zuckerburg is leading Facebook:
"You don't expect to go to someone's profile and get a brief overview of their life. You expect to see what's going on with them right now"
"The majority of the sharing that's going to happen in the world isn't going to be with just 1 site. We believe that over time, the value is going to be distributed out so that there will be a lot of different applications that people are using to share information. And that's why building a platform and having it open and really interoperable is important for how the web develops"
