As I'm sitting here in my office, I noticed the JUNK that has been piling up over the past few months. There is so much clutter in my office it's been insane. Every time I sit down to clean, something always comes up (though it's bound to happen when our lives our so busy). But there is something about junk: we all have it. I've been thinking about the following verse that I read today. It comes from 2 Chronicles 34:33......
"Josiah removed all the detestable idols from all the territory belonging to the Israelites, and he had all who were present in Israel serve the LORD their God. As long as he lived, they did not fail to follow the LORD, the God of their fathers." (If you want to know all the details of what Josiah removed, go to 2 Kings 23)
Josiah removed all the idols from the territory. In essence, he was removing the junk from their lives. That got me thinking, what things have become an idol for me (things that take my time, mind away from God)? Josiah removed what was keeping the people away from God. I need to do the same.
What about you?
