My 2009-2010 NBA Predictions

Once again the NBA has come back into our lives. This season looks like it could be an amazing season, so here are my 2009-2010 NBA season predictions:

Eastern Conference
15. Milwaukee Bucks (they are very unwatchable)
14. New Jersey Nets (saw them play in person this pre-season, Devin Harris can really play)
13. Indiana Pacers (a very average team that will fall to 13)
12. New York Knicks (saw them play in person this pre-season, they'll surprise people)
11. Philadelphia 76ers (a lot of players starting that should be bench guys)
10. Charlotte Bobcats (Larry Brown will do a great job almost getting them in the playoffs)
9. Detroit Pistons (I like some of their players, but they're a year away from the playoffs)

Playoff Teams

8. Miami Heat (Dwayne Wade will carry this team to the playoffs)
7. Chicago Bulls (A good young team that already has playoff experience)
6. Atlanta Hawks (Secretly good off-season additions in Crawford/Smith)
5. Washington Wizards (They're back and have a lot of scorers)
4. Toronto Raptors (If Bargnani continues to improve, this is a very dangerous team)
3. Cleveland Cavaliers (Shaq makes them worse)
2. Orlando Magic (This team is LOADED. A lot of good players)
1. Boston Celtics (They're going to be the dominant giant in the east)

Western Conference
15. Sacramento Kings (Some nice pieces in Martin and Evans, but not much else)
14. Minnesota Timberwolves (I like where they're going with the team, Flynn can really play)
13. Golden State Warriors (Stephen Jackson will be traded very soon)
12. Houston Rockets (This team is very surprising and may prove me wrong)
11. Memphis Grizzlies (If this was a streetball game, this team would dominate)
10. Los Angeles Clippers (I thought they were going to make the playoffs, but not anymore)
9. New Orleans Hornets (They're going to have injury and chemstry problems)

Playoff Teams
8. Oklahoma City Thunder (This is the year they make the leap)
7. Phoenix Suns (If they don't trade Amare, they make the playoffs)
6. Utah Jazz (They're always going to be a tough team)
5. Portland Trailblazers (Can they finally live up to their potential?)
4. Dallas Mavericks (An team of veterans that will surprise a lot of people)
3. Denver Nuggets (Carmelo Anthony looks like he's taking another leap forward)
2. San Antonio Spurs (Their new guys can all really play)
1. Los Angeles Lakers (My biggest fear is that they'll get too bored during the season/playoffs)

Coach of the Year: Scott Brooks
Sixth Man of the Year: Rudy Fernandez
Most Improved: Andrew Bynum
