Monday Morning Thoughts

Yesterday I spoke in church on "Renewing Your Purpose" based on Exodus 2:11-25. We looked at the life of Moses, how even though he strayed from the path he was on, God still renewed his purpose - to help those who were oppressed. Moses' longing to help those were oppressed always stayed with him no matter where he was in life. I believe that God has given us a longing in our heart; a passion for something. We all have this longing that compels us to do something significant for the Kingdom of God. It is that longing that fuels our purpose. But no matter how far we drift from our purpose, God wants to renew us. We serve a God who is in the business of renewal. He makes what was dead, new.

After the service the church had an amazing luncheon for us where the congregation was able to ask us an array of questions. The question and answer session went well and we feel this congregation is really serious about growing and being healthy. Next week after the service the congregation will vote on us, then the Governing Board will meet immediately after to tally the votes and to work about specific details.
