A New Beginning

With the start of 2008, things are finally settling in for us here in Albany. We moved into our apartment complex last Friday, and we are almost done unpacking all of our stuff. Melinda has been learning how to work from home while taking care of Elianah at the same time. I started at a Starbucks in East Greenbush, NY (just outside of Albany) and I'm gradually getting to know all of my co-workers and regular customers. The majority of my co-workers represent students from all of the local college and universities in the Albany area. My prayer is that I continue to develop solid relationships at Starbucks and be a light to everybody I come in contact with.

This Sunday is the big day, the day that I have waited for ever since I graduated from seminary. Sunday is the day I candidate at a church in the Albany area. My day starts with teaching the Adult Sunday School, preaching in the service, leading communion, and attending a church luncheon where I'll have Q&A's with the congregation. Since we just moved in, I still feel a little pressed for time in getting everything done. I know what I want to do and say for Sunday and I just need some time to organize everything in writing. However, I'm more excited than nervous for this process. I've waited for this moment for some time, so I can't wait to get the candidating process started. I'm not nervous or scared, because I know that our future is in the Lord's hand. We've come to the point in our lives where we have complete confidence in who God is and what He has planned for our lives. Our hope is that we continue to seek Him and walk/live in obedience.
