Do you ever have one of those days where you simply just want to crash and do nothing? Yesterday was like that for me. After a long day of work and after looking at next week's schedule, I simply lost it. It seems that in our society, this can happen quite a bit to people. We are a culture of doing. No matter how much rest I schedule in, there are commitments that I simply cannot ignore. Being a bi-vocational pastor can have it's time challenges. The good news in life is that God always gives us hope for any situation we encounter. I have hope because Jesus says we can come to him when we're tired and stressed out. I have hope because eventually I will not be bi-vocational and I can actually have flexibility and control of my schedule. So last night, Melinda and I went to our weekly Prayer Gathering which refreshed us spiritually and afterwards we went out to Friendly's to refresh us physically (great food) and emotionally (great conversations). Kudos to Elianah for hanging with us for the entire night and being really good. Because Elianah is so good going out in public, we never find needs for a baby-sitter when we go out.
I'm looking forward to today as I'm meeting with a bunch of other pastors in the area, then I'm going to spend the rest of the day preparing my sermon. After all that's done, Melinda and I watching Lost (which is finally back with a new episode)!
