Fondue Experience
What an amazing dinner Melinda and I had last night! Last night we went to The Melting Pot for our Valentine's Day dinner. We wanted to go on the 14th, but the restaurant was booked solid. Turns out people were booking reservations in July for Valentine's Day (who's thinking about Valentine's Day in the summer?). I'm glad we went on the 15th because it wasn't as busy, the menu wasn't a set menu, and we were able to go with our good friends Ken and Wendy. Now, for those of you who are saying to yourself, "how can they possibly afford The Melting Pot?" Let me reassure you that we really can't. The only way we could was because we got a nice gift card from American Express (gotta love reward cards!). Our dinner was a four-course meal: a cheese fondue, a salad, the wide selection of meat, and a chocolate fondue. Not only were we at a great restaurant, with great food, but we also had NO KIDS!!! Our kids were joyfully playing at our house with the babysitter and we felt relaxed and refreshed.
Melinda and I were really thankful last night. Thankful that we were able to go to a fancy restaurant. Thankful that we have great friends in Ken and Wendy who we hang out with and who provide true friendship. Thankful that Elianah has a "boyfriend" in Wesley (Ken and Wendy's kid). Thankful that Melinda's aunt and cousin watched both kids. Thankful that we get to celebrate another Valentine's Day together after 5 years of marriage. Thankful that we're in ministry. Thankful that we're still in ministry, still in the same place for over a year now.
Life has its ups and downs. Yesterday was definitely an up moment. Here's to more nights like last night.
