Thoughts on Easter

Last night we had our Good Friday service at church where we looked at the seven last statements of Jesus. We had a chance to reflect on the greatest sacrifice God ever made - the sacrifice of His own son. We gathered to encounter our own sin. We gathered to remember the suffering Jesus endured on the cross. We gather to mourn the death of Jesus. But we also have hope and know that the story does that end there. I am greatly looking forward to tomorrow, where we get to celebrate as a church the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Easter reminds me that Jesus conquered death and the grave and reigns victoriously. In our lives there may be times we feel hopeless or defeated. But know that because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, we triumph in the end.
